Campaign Update

“After thoughtful consideration of the campaign and the needs of Ward 13, I have decided to step back from actively campaigning

I was always a reluctant candidate. Running for office was never something I had planned or particularly wanted to do. I decided to put my name forward because I was genuinely concerned about the rural communities in Ward 13 having a strong voice and someone who understands the issues that affect those of us living outside the urban areas.

Over the course of this campaign, I have had the opportunity to speak with other candidates and have some very good conversations about the concerns that led me to run. Through those conversations, I have become more comfortable knowing that there is another candidate who shares many of those concerns and understands the importance of representing the rural part of our ward as well.

Because of that, I no longer feel the same need to continue actively campaigning simply to make sure those issues are part of the conversation.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who encouraged me to run, shared their concerns with me and supported me along the way. My concern for our rural communities has not changed, and I will continue to speak up for the issues that matter to our area.

For anyone who would like to speak with me personally about my decision or the conversations that helped lead me to it, you are always welcome to reach out“.

Thank you
